Had to get a doctor to phone regarding blood test results. Unfortunately got one of the extremely arrogant male doctors. When I wouldn't take the cheap option tablets he was offering he responded like a five year old and said "bye" and hung up. The only thing that is good about this practice is the reception staff. Doctors should take note and learn.

Getting an appointment is like competing in an obscure game show. You have to ring the surgery after noon. If the appointments are 'all taken' (they will be) you have to ring again the next day after noon. Repeat until you win the appointment lottery. Because of work, I had to ring at 1 pm, which I did for many days in a row. There was never an appointment. The guy on the phone told me the appointments were for 'two to three weeks', so if I was to secure an appointment on the 24th July, I would be booking from the '31st onward'. That's a week, not two to three weeks. I couldn't understand it at all.

I rang Donaghadee Health Centre for an emergency appointment and was given one for later in the morning without any difficulty right away by a very helpful receptionist. O saw Dr McVeigh and she could not have been nicer or more helpful. I think sometimes we are quick to criticise the NHS but slow to give them credit.

The majority of the time one phones to get a GP appointment at Donaghadee Health Centrenyou are asked to phone back in a week or two as no GPs are available. In addition there are very few trustworthy GPs there and you are generally treated with contempt and arrogance. I would never recommend this practise to anyone ever. I have since moved to another health centre as the misconduct and destrcuction to my wellbeing has become intolerable.
